Vikki Stone says: "I cannot tell you how delighted I am to be writing Maid Marian. It was one of my absolute favourite kids TV shows in the 90s, and I couldn't be more excited to be working with comedy legend Sir Tony Robinson on this wonderful show."

Produced by Thomas Hopkins, Guy Chapman and John Rogerson, further plans for the production will be revealed in due course.

Vikki is the writer/co-adaptor and music supervisor of the Olivier Award Winning HEY DUGGEE LIVE, and created the show alongside director and co-adaptor Matthew Xia.

It will be touring major venues in the UK from the end of 2022, and then for most of 2023.

Vikki collaborated with Easyjet and Scooch and wrote "All Aboard The Orange Plane" as part of their 2024 Eurovision brand partnership.

The song was a huge social media success, and as a result, it was commercially released, after amassing more that 6.6 million views on TikTok.

Vikki returns to write her second show at The New Wolsey, after the success of the five star, award nominated "Dick Whittington".

“SOMETHING OF A MASTERPIECE” The Arts Desk

Stone’s debut as orchestral composer, Concerto for Comedian and Orchestra is a spoken word concerto – the first work of its kind – that sees the comedian in the role of ‘soloist’ alongside a symphony or chamber orchestra.

Supported by The Bliss Trust Composers Bursary, Arts Council England and PRS Women Make Music, the work was given its world premiere at Glastonbury Festival in June 2017 and in the same year performed at Latitude Festival and played The Pleasance Grand at the Edinburgh Fringe. In 2019 was part of the Kings Place Venus Unwrapped season celebrating works by female composers, and Vikki was accompanied by the London Musical Theatre Orchestra for the London debut/

As the title suggests, the Concerto is a vehicle for Stone's own comedic talents but it has been written in such a way that it can be performed by other comedians, with the script able to be adapted as necessary. It's in four movements, with a narrative, and it also introduces the audience to the orchestra and issues of concert etiquette! Highlights include 'The Arrival of the Dishwasher', and there's even a 'March of the Latecomers'…

The ‘Talking Makes Us Stronger’ campaign was created in partnership with ISPCC Childline and is designed to assist parents and teachers to show children how talking makes us stronger.

Vikki wrote the music and lyrics for creative agency Valenstein & Fatt (the creative agency formerly known as Grey London) and supervised the recordings at The Umbrella Rooms in London, and studios in Dublin.

Vikki wrote and recorded this piece (titled The Quarantine Chorus) for a unique set of BBC Oneness idents for broadcast during the UK lockdown.

In addition to the composing, Vikki did the audio mix and co-ordinated the filming of the choir.
